cuevas del almanzora
Cuevas Del Almanzora, a bustling town with character and atmosphere, is one of the oldest in the province. Situated just 20 minutes from the coastal towns, Cuevas is full of history.
In the early 19th Century, silver was discovered in the nearby Sierra Almagrera mountains and so it became a renowned mining town, with the nearby hills full of caves once home to the miners. The silver rush is evident throughout the town from the churches, statues and elegant family homes of mining barons scattered amongst the cobbled streets.
